  1. Original said to be in 'Cod. MS' (ie., a manuscript of codes) by Thomas Thomson. In other instances, such as the declaration of innocence regarding the murder of the earl of Douglas of 1452, this has been found to be NLS Adv. 35.6.5. However, Mr Kenneth Dunn, who traced this MS, did not find this act of forfeiture when examining the MS in 2006. The generally chronological nature of this book of codes suggests that Thomas Thomson may have made an error in citing his source of the MS, or meant another MS entirely. Note however, pages 59 and 60 are missing from NLS Adv. 35.6.5. Thanks are due to Mr Dunn for his assistance. Back
