Procedure: preamble

In the parliament of the most excellent prince James VI, king of Scots, held previously at Edinburgh on 19 August 1568, and running to this point, as in the acts made on the said day contain more fully, and now held at Edinburgh on the said 17 November 1569 by the magnificent prince James [Stewart], earl of Moray, lord Abernethy, regent of our supreme lord the king, the kingdom and lieges of the same, along with the lords written below representing the three estates of parliament and the kingdom of the same, and William Henderson, constable depute, Robert Keith, marischal depute, Master John Marjoribanks, sheriff depute, and Andrew Lindsay, dempster. The suits called and the court fenced.
