Procedure: taking of oaths
The which day, Simon Preston of that Ilk, knight, provost of Edinburgh, made faith in presence of [James Stewart, earl of Moray], my lord regent, and three estates of parliament that he shall loyally and truly administer in the office of justiciary in this present parliament, and in time coming, according to our sovereign lord's commission under his great seal, of the date 10 August 1568.
