Liberty of the Holy Kirk
In the first, it is statute and ordained that the freedom of the Holy Kirk, the immunities and privileges of the same, be observed and kept and defended by our sovereign lord, with all liberties, in honour and worship thereof, suchlike and as freely as they have been in the times of his most noble progenitors, kings of Scotland, and the breakers and offenders thereof be punished with all rigour.
