Procedure: preamble

The parliament of the most excellent prince and lord, our lord James V, by the grace of God most illustrious king of Scots, held and begun at Edinburgh on Monday, 12 November 1526 by the lords commissioners written below, namely the reverend fathers in Christ George [Crichton], bishop of Dunkeld, Gavin [Dunbar, elder], bishop of Aberdeen, the venerable and excellent man Master Robert Forman, dean of Glasgow, Archibald Douglas [of Kilspindie], treasurer and justiciar of the said supreme lord our king, William Scott of Balwearie, and Master Adam Otterburn [of Auldhame and Reidhall], royal advocate, commissioners deputed by a special commission of our aforementioned lord king read through publicly there, along with Patrick Baron, deputy of [William Hay], earl of Erroll, Andrew Dalmahoy, sergeant, and John Anderson, dempster. On the which day the lords commissioners written before created Adam Wawane of Newton a deputy of the lord [William Keith], earl Marischal in his absence, and then, the suits called, the court fenced, the absentees were made clear in the books.
