On the said 7 April, the said parliament was continued daily to 15 April, with continuation of days. Which 15 [April] arriving, by special mandate of our said supreme lord the king, on account of several difficult matters touching our said supreme lord the king and the state, [James Livingston, bishop of Dunkeld], lord chancellor, had the parliament continued by lord Gilbert Johnston, knight, depute of the great constable, to 16 June following, with continuation of days, at the burgh of Edinburgh or where the king shall happen to reside for the time, an announcement being publicly made hereupon.
