Act explaining an former act anent fiars

Forasmuch as by act of parliament of 22 May it is statute and ordained that in all such cases wherein any infeftment of fee has been already or shall be at any time hereafter granted bearing a reversion or condition of reversion, and power to any person and his assignees during his lifetime to redeem from the persons to whom the fee is granted, it was and shall be lawful to the foresaid person and his assignees, during the time foresaid, to redeem the lands and others contained in the said fee infeftments, not only from the fiar himself but from his heirs and assignees though they be not expressed unless it be expressly provided, that it shall be lawful only to redeem from the fiar himself and not from his heirs, and in all such cases the lords of session and other judges are ordained to proceed and determine conforming thereunto, and seeing some debates may arise concerning this act and the extent thereof, for clearing whereof the king's majesty, with advice and consent of his estates of parliament, declares that the said act is to be extended only for the future and that the lords of the session and all other judges are to take notice thereof accordingly.
