Judicial proceedings: act of the lords auditors of causes and complaints
In the action and cause debatable between Robin Hoppringle, on the one part, and John Mowbray and Marion Hoppringle, his spouse, on the other part, concerning the lands of Kirktonhill and Muirhouse previously recognised in our sovereign lord's hands for the debates between the said parties, both the said parties being present in person and their charters, sasines, evidence, rights, reasons and allegations, proof and witnesses seen, heard and understood at length, the lords decree and deliver that the said lands shall be allowed as pledge for the said John Mowbray and Marion Hoppringle as possessors of the same, and the said recognition to be released.
