Act of approbatione and exonoratione to the Lord Burghlie and remanent of the committie at Aberdene

The estates of parliament, now presentlie conveend be vertew of the last act of the last parliament haldine be his matie and thrie estates in anno 1641, haveing hard and considderit the relatione produceit in writ for Robert, lord Burghlie and remanent of the committie at Aberdene appoynted be the conventione of estates to goe alonges with the marques of Argile in the northerne expeditione, quhilke wes publictly red in audience of the parliament, beirand ane particular accompt of the said committie, ther diligence and proceidingis, quherof the said Lord Burghly wes president, and of there cariage and haill deportmentes for dischairge of the commissione granted to them be the conventione of estates, as the paper produced conteyneing the same report at lenth proportis. And haveing also compaired the whole actiones and proceidings of the said committie with ther said commissione granted to them be the conventione of estates, the saidis estaites findis and declaires that the foirsaid committie hath in all fidelitie cairfullie and diligently walked worthy of the trust and chairge put wpoun them be the conventione of estates and conforme to the said commissioun granted to them in all poyntes, and therfor the estates of parliament approves the foirsaid committy, ther diligence and proceidingis, whilke they find punctually done according to the said commissione, and not only liberates and exoneres the said committie therof, bot for the farder declaratione of the estates, ther respect to the said committy, ther good cariage in the foirsaid imployment, the estates addis this generall approbatione: that the foirsaid committie hath deserved weill of the publict as loyall subjectes to the king, faithfull serveands to the estates and trew patriotes to ther cuntrie. And also the saids estates ordeanes the erle of Sutherland and the erle of Seaforth's men to be brought out, and grantes power to the committy to sitt at Aberdene for the northerne bussiness to setle the erles of Sutherland and Seafort, and appontes the ellevint of Julii to be the randevous and day of meiting of the committie at Aberdene.
