Act of exonoratione and approbatione to the Lord Balmerino anent his chairge of being president in the late parliamente

The estates of parliament, now presently conveind be vertue of the last act of the last parliament haldin be his matie and the thrie estates in anno 1641, haveing takine to there consideration the procedor and deportement of Johne, lord Balmerino in the dischairge of the place of president in the last parliament, they find that he hath worthily, faithfully and every way commendably acquitt himselfe in that chairge and expressed therin all the induementes and qualityes requisit for that eminent place to the full satisfactione of the haill estates of parliament. And therfor they have not only exonered and dischairged him of his cariage and service in the said place, bot lykewayes doe approve his haill deportments therin, and deservedly give him this just testimony: that in all things incumbent to that chairge, he behaved himselfe as became ane worthy patriot, mereiting publict thankes fra the whole body of this kingdome.
