[Committee to consider the instructions for the committee sent to the north]

The convention of estates, considering the course tane be the comittie in sending tua of the regimentis that come out of Ireland to the south and one to the north, and appoynts Argyle, Cassillis, Lauderdail, Sinclair and Burley, Wauchtoun, Dundas, Sir William Scot, Sir Thomas Ker, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundie and Bruntyland to be a comittie to consider on the commission, instructions and otheris directions necessarie for the expedition to the north and on the power of a committie to be sent there, and how the peace of the borderis may be secured, and to report.

The estates recommends to the marques of Argyle to give orders to his lord's troupe to quarter on suche meit landis in Perth shyre as have not putt out their men.

The quhilk day the commissioners of the generall assemblie represented to the estates that they had given order for the sumar excomunication of the marques of Huntly and other pryme actors in the rebellion in the north.
