Forsameikle as the conventioun of the estaits have thought fitting that the sowme of eicht hundreth thowsand pund be advanced by this kingdome by way of loane, and that fyve pairts thairoff be payed be the shyres out of the spiritualitie and temporalitie, and the saxt pairt by the barrounes3, and to the effect that the said fyve parts be layed on in ane equall proportioun, the estaits gives warrand and commissione to the m[arquis] of Argyll, the earles of Marschell, Sutherland, Cassills, Lauderdaile, Southesk (or in his absence, Loure), Balmerinoch, Burghlie, Humbie, Deinmilne, Greenock, Garthland, Broddie, Halkertoun, Lag and Dawick, the commissioners for borrowes Sir Johne Smith and James Denniestoun for Edinburgh, Thomas Durhame for Perth, Patrik Leslie for Aberdein, Johne Rutherfurde for Jedbur (or in his absence, Gideon Jack for Lanrek), Mr Robert Barklay for Irveing, Mr Alexander Douglas for Bamff, Thomas Bruce for Stirling and James Airth for Pittinweime, or any fyftein or moe of them, their being fyve of each estaite, to tak tryell and informatione by all such lawfull meanes as thei shall think convenient for the tyme, according to ther best knowledge and conscience, to appoynt and sett doun without partialitie what thei shall judge to be the just and equall proportioun of that sowme that is to be advanced by each severall shyre. And the conventioun declares that there salbe no leading caise heirefter, and is to be sett doun in the act as is expressit in the act of parliament.
