Ratificatione in favoures of the toune of Edinburghe

Our soverane lord, with advyse and consent of the estates of this present parliament, be thir presentes, ratifies and approves the signatour, donatione and mortificatioune therinmentionat, subscryved be his majesties hand, givine and granted be his hienes to and in favoures of the proveist, baillies, counsell and commontie of the burghe of Edinburghe and ther successoures for the helpe of ther colledge of certane few mailles, few fermes, teyndis, quottes of testamentes and otheres particularlie mentioned and conteaned in the foirsaid signatour, gifte and mortificatione abovespecifeid, togidder with the advocatione, donatione and right of patronage of the kirkis of Halyrudhous and North Leith, quhilkes, with the saidis few mailles, fewfermes, teyndis, quottes of testamentes and otheres specified and conteaned in the foirsaid gifte and mortificatione, perteaned to the late beshoperike of Edinburgh, be the whilke gifte, donatione and mortificatione abovewrittin his majestie hes dissolved the foirsaidis fewmailles, fewfermes, quottes of testamentes and otheres generallie and particularlie thairinconteanit fra the croune and beshoprike of Edinburgh foirsaid, and hes mortified the samene to the saidis proveist, baillies, counsell and commontie of the said burghe of Edinburgh in maner and for the effect conteyned in the said signatour, as the samene of the dait at his majesties palace of Halyrudhouse, the last day of September j^M vj^C fourtie ane yeeres mair fullie proportes and beeres, togidder with the chartour to be expede and past wpoun the said signatour wnder the great seale, with the precept of seasing and instrument of seasing to fallow thairwpoun, in all and sindrie poynts, articles and clauss conteaned in the foirsaid signatour, and to be conteaned in the chartour and infeftment to be past and exped thairwpoun; and declaires this present ratificatione therof to be alse sufficient in all respectes as if the samene wer at lenth and word be word insert and ingrost heerintill, dispensand be thir presentes with the not inserting therof. And farder, his majestie and estates of parliament hes dissolved and be thir presentes dissolves all and sindrie the foirsaidis fewfermes, wtheres fermes, teyndis, teynd dewties, patronages and others mentionate in the said signatour, gifte and mortificatione abovewrittin from his hienes croune and patrimony therof, and fra the said beshoprike of Edinburghe and fra all other benefices whatsomevir, wherwnto the samene wer annexit or perteaned of before, and suppress and extinguishes the name and memorie of the said beshoprike of Edinburghe in all tymecomeing to the effect the saidis fewfermes, uthers fermes, teyndis, teynd dewties, patronages and otheres abovementionat conteanit in the said signatour may remaine with the saidis proveist, baillies, counsell and commontie of the said burgh of Edinburgh and ther successoures to the uses respective specified in the samene signatour perpetuallie in all tyme heereftir. And als our said soverane lord and estates of parliament declaires, statutes and ordeanes that the foirsaid signatour, with the chartour, infeftment and seasing to be expede thairwpoun, with this present ratificatione therof, shall be sufficient and valied rightes and securities to the saidis proveist, baillies, counsell and commontie of the said burgh of Edinburgh and ther successoures for bruiking and joysing of the fewfermes, otheres fermes, teyndis, teynd dewties, patronages and otheres therinmentionat to the uses respective abovespecified perpetuallie in all tymecomeing. And our soverane lord and estates of parliament declaires that this present ratificatione shall nowayes derogat to the strenth, validitie and force of that act of this present parliament, wherby the quottes of all testamentes are dischairged as the act mad thairanent proportes, quhairwnto thir presentes shall nowayes be prejudiciall.
