Procedure: protest, asking of instruments
Protestatioun be the Marques of Hammilton, the Erle of Seaforth, the Erle of Galloway, the Lord Almonte, the Lairdes of Glenurquhie, Cragivare and Ballvie
The quhilk day the saidis noblemen and others abovenamed protestit that the clause wnderwrittin conteined in the act of commissione anente the provisione of kirkis and this day condishendit to in parliament, viz: lykeas it is heirby declaired that the teyndis and teynd dewties quhilke belonged to chapteres, deanries, subdeanries and otheres dignities of there chapteres shall be lyable to the provisione of the kirkis whilkis are annexit therwnto, according to the proportione of eight chalderes victuell or eight hundreth merkis forth of the teyndis of the owne parochine allenerlie, conforme to the act of parliament, be not prejudiciall to ther rightes of teyndis or teynd dueties belonging to chapters, deanries, subdeanries and other dignities, and therwpoun askit instrumentes.
