Act anent the personage of Dalkeith and payment of the taxatione thairof

Oure soverane lord and the thrie estates of this present parliament, considering that the teinds of the towne, lands, lordschip and baronie of Dalkeith, the fruites, rents and emoluments thairof, hes beine dissolved frome the deanrie of Restalrige, quhairof the saidis teinds war ane pairt of auld, and have beine erected in ane severall personage, callit the personage of Dalkeith, and that the dissolutione and erectione ar ratifiet in the parliament haldin at Edinburgh one the fyft day of Junii, jM vC fourscoor tuelf yeirs, and that notwithstanding thairof, the persounes of the said personage of Dalkeith have beine stenttit be the deanes of Restalrige to the thride pairt of the taxationes imposed one the said deanrie of Restalrige, and hes payit the samyne thride pairt of the saidis taxationes in tyme bygaine to the saidis deanes of Restalrige and persones of Laswade, quhairas of equitie the saidis persones of Dalkeith sould have payit the taxatione of the said personage of Dalkeith to his majesties collector, inrespect of the dissolutione of the said personage of Dalkeith fra the said deanrie of Restalrige and erectione thairof in ane severall personage be it sellf. Thairfor, oure soverane lord, with advyse and consent of the thrie estates of this present parliament, statuites and ordaines that the personage of Dalkeith in all tyme coming sall pay to his majesties collector generall and his deputtes the just thride pairt of the taxatione imposit and to be imposit one the said deanrie of Restalrige, and that the saidis persones of Dalkeith sall not be subject to pay the thride pairt of the said taxatioune of the said deanrie of Restalrige, nather to the saidis deanes of Restalrige nor na uther persone nor persones, except onlie his majesties collector generall and his deputtes.
