Act of dissolutioun of Lugtoun and Melvill frome the paroche of Sanct Androis, and unioun thairof to Dalkeith and Laswade
Oure soverane lord, with advyse and consent of the thrie estates of this present parliament, be thir presents ratifies and approves the act maid befor the lords and uthers of his majesties commissioun appointed for surranders and teinds and dissolving and uniting of kirks, of the dait the aucht day of Februar, jM vjC and threttie tua yeirs, quhairby they supprest, extinguischit and dissolved the paroche kirk and parochine of Sanct Androis thairinmentionat, and dismemberit, dissolved and disjoined the townes and lands of Lugtoun and Melvill, with thair pertinents, haill lands, teinds, fruites, provents and emoluments thairof fra the said kirk of Sanct Androis, and united, annexit and incorporat the saidis haill teinds, personage and viccarage, of the saidis towne and lands of Lugtoun to the paroche kirk of Dalkeith to remaine thair with in all tyme coming inseparablie, and astricted and ordanit the haill inhabitants of Lugtoun and thair successors to repair and resort to the said paroche kirk of Dalkeith in the samyne forme and maner as they aucht and sould have done at any tyme bygaine befor the said dissolutione at the forsaid kirk of Sanct Androis and to be subject to the discipline thairof; and siclyk unitit, annexit and incorporat the saidis haill teinds, personage and viccarage, of the saidis towne and lands of Melvill to the paroche kirk of Laswade to remaine thairwith in all tyme thaireftir inseparablie, and astricted and ordanit the haill inhabitants of Melvill and thair successors to repair to the said paroche kirk of Laswade in the samyne forme and maner as they aucht and sould have done befor the said dissolutione at the said kirk of Sanct Androis, and to be subject to the discipline thairof, wnder the reservatione and provisione eftirmentionat thairin contenit, in all and sundrie points, heads, articles and clauses thairin contenit efter the forme and tennor thairof; and wills and grants and, for his majestie and his successors, with consent forsaid, decernes and ordaines that this present ratificatioun of the forsaid act is and sall be als valeid, effectuall and sufficient in all respects as if the samyne act war at lenth insert heirintill, dispensand heirby with the not inserting thairof in this present ratificatioun. And siclyk his majestie, with advyse and consent forsaid, hes supprest, extinguisched and dissolved and, be the tennor heirof, suppreses, extinguisches and dissolves the said paroche kirk and parochine of Sanct Androis in all tyme coming, and hes dismemberit, disunited and disjoynit and, be thir presents, dismembers, disunites and disjoines the forsaidis townes and lands of Lugtoun and Melvill, with thair pertinents, haill lands, teinds, fruites, provents and emoluments thairof fra the said kirk of Sanct Androis, and unites, annexis and incorporates the saidis haill teinds, personage and viccarage, of the saidis towne and lands of Lugtoun to the said paroche kirk of Dalkeith, to remaine thairwith in all tyme coming inseparablie; and astrictes and ordaines the haill inhabitants of Lugtoun and thair successors to repair and resort to the said paroche kirk of Dalkeith in the same forme and maner as they aucht and sould have done at any time bygane befor the said dissolutione at the said kirk of Sanct Androis and to be subject to the discipline thairof, and als unites, annexis and incorporats the saidis haill teinds, personage and viccarage, of the said towne and lands of Melvill to the said paroche kirk of Laswade, to remaine thairwith inseparablie in all tyme coming, and astricts and ordaines the haill inhabitants of Melvill and thair successors to repair to the said paroche kirk of Laswade in the samyne forme and maner as they aucht and sould have done befor the said dissolutione at the forsaid kirk of Sanct Androis and to be subject to the discipline thairof; reservand alwayes to Maister James Porteous, minister at Laswade and Sanct Androis, titular during his lyftyme, the teinds, rents, fruits, maills and dewties thairfor, and provyding that Williame, earle of Mortoun etc., his airs and assignais, releive him of his majesties ordiner taxatione of the teinds of the lands of Lugtoun abonespecifiet, with the pertinents. And ordaines thir presents to be ane sufficient warrand to the clerk of register and his deputtes for extending of ane act of parliament heirupon in dew and competent forme.
