Oure soverane lord and estates of parliament, considering the trew, worthie and faithfull service done to his majestie be his majesties lovitt Sir James Makgill of Cranstounriddell, knicht baronett, ane of the senators of the colledge of justice, togider with the trew and worthie services done be umquhile Maister David Makgill of Cranstounriddell, advocat to his majesties umquhile darrest father of eternall memorie, guidsir to the said Sir James, and be umquhile Maister David Makgill of Cranstounriddell, ane of the senators of the colledge of justice, his father, hes ratifiet and approvine and, be the tennor heirof, ratifies, approves and perpetuallie confirmes the chartor maid and grantit be his hienes said umquhile father of eternall memorie, wnder his great seale, to the said umquhile Maistir David Makgill, his majesties advocate, in lyfrent, and to the said umquhile Maister David Makgill, his sone, his airs and assignais heretablie, of all and haill the lands and baronie of Cranstounriddell and lands of Nisbett, with the advocatioun, donatioun and richt of patronage of the kirk of Cranstoun, personage and viccarage thairof, and uthers thairinmentionat, quhilk is of the dait at Halyrudhous, the tuentie nynt day of Marche, the yeir of God j^M v^C fourscoor and tuelff yeirs, with precept and instrument of sasing following thairupon; ane uther chartor maid, givin and grantit be his majesties said umquhile father under his great seale to the said umquhile Maister David Makgill, his airs and assignais heretablie, of all and haill the saidis lands and baronie of Cranstounriddell, Nisbett, Spotscheill, Raburne, Nisbetschillie and Quhinrig, Balvorune, Litle Parklie and Burnsyde, with all thair pertinents, with the said advocatione, donatione and richt of patronage of the said kirk of Cranstoun, personage and viccarage thairof, and uthers contenit in the forsaid chartor, daitit at Halyrudhous, the thride day of Februar, the yeir of God j^M vj^C ane yeirs, with the precept and instrument of sasing past thairupon; and siclyk, ane uther chartor last maid and grantit be his majesties said umquhile darrest father under the great seale, of the dait the tuentie thride day of Apryll, the yeir of God j^M vj^C and sevinteine yeirs, to umquhile David Makgill of Cranstounriddell, brother to the said Sir James, his airs and assignais heretablie, of all and haill the saidis lands and baronie of Cranstounriddell, Nisbett and uthers forsaidis and of the said patronage of the said personage and viccarage of the said kirk of Cranstoun, with the precept and instrument of seasing following thairupon, in all and sundrie pointes, heads, articles, clauses, conditions, priveledges, liberties, immwnities and circumstances expressit and comprehendit in all the saidis thrie chartors, and ilkane of thame, precepts and instruments of sasing past thairupon; and wills and declairs that this present generall ratificatioun and confirmatioun is, and sall be, of als great force, strenth and effect as if the foirnamit thrie chartors of the daits respective, tennors and contents abonewrittine, precepts and instruments of sasing war all at lenth word be word insert heirin; quhairanent oure said soverane lord, with advyse and consent of the saidis estates of parliament, be thir presents for now and ever dispenses. Attoure our said soverane lord, with advyse and consent of the saidis estates of parliament, finds, decernes and declairs for his hienes and his successors the foirnamit thrie chartors, with the precepts and instruments of sasing past thairupon, to have beine frome the begining and to be now and in all tyme coming perfyte, lawfull, valide and sufficient heretable infeftments, richts and secuirities to the said Sir James Makgill, now of Cranstoun Riddell, as air and successor to the said umquhile David, his brother, thair saidis umquhile father and guidsir, and to the said Sir James, his airs and assignais, for bruiking and joysing heretablie and perpetuallie in all tyme heirefter of all and haill the saidis lands and baronie of Cranstoun Riddell, annexis, connexis and all thair pertinents abonerehearsit, with the richt of patronage of the said personage and viccarage of Cranstoun and all uthers comprehendit in the saidis chartors or any of thame.
