Act in favour of the burgh of New Galloway

Oure soverane lord, with advyse and consent of the thrie estates of this present parliament, be thir presents, ratifies and approves the chartor and letter of patent maid and grantit be his majestie wnder the great seale, of the dait at Halyrudhous, the nynteine day of November jM vjC threttie yeirs, erecting that pairt and portione of the lands of Roddings boundit in maner thairin mentionat, lyand in the baronie of Kenmore and stewartrie of Kirkcudbright, with the haill tenements, lands, houses, biggings, yeards and outsetts biggit, and to be biggit, thairupon in ane haill and frie burgh royall, to be callit in all tyme coming the burgh of Galloway, with the haill liberties, privieledges and immwnities of the said burgh, and of the proveist, baillies, burgeses and inhabitants thairof particularlie and generallie mentionat in the said chartor or letters patent, togider with the precept and instrument of sasing following thairupon in all and sundrie pointes, articles and clauses thairin contenit eftir the formes and tennors thairof; and declairs, statuits and ordaines this present ratificatioun thairof is, and sall be, als valide and sufficient in all respects as if the samyne wer at lenth insert heirin, dispensand heirby with the not inserting heirof. And siclyk his majestie, with advyse and consent forsaid, finds, declairs, statuits and ordaines that the forsaid chartor or letters patent of erectioun of the said burgh royall, with this present ratificatioun of the samyne, ar, and sall be, sufficient, valeid and lawfull richts and secuirities to the proveist, baillies, thesaurar, deine of gild, burgeses and inhabitants of the said burgh and thair successors for ever, for the peacible bruiking and joysing of the samyn burgh royall, weiklie mercatts and frie fairs thairof with the haill priveledges, liberties, immwnities, tolls, customes, casualities, proffeitts and dewties of the said burgh royall, weiklie mercatts and frie fairs thairof, particularlie and generallie mentionat in the said chartor or letters patent, quhilks ar, and sall be, reputt and haldin as at lenth repeittit and insert heirintill, ordaining thir presents to be ane sufficient warrand to the clerk of register and his deputts for extending of ane act of parliament heirupon in dew forme, with provisione alwayes that this present ratificatioun sall nawayes be hurtfull or prejudiciall to the infeftments, richts and secuirities grantit be his majestie and his most noble progenitors to the proveist, baillies, counsall and comwnitie of the burgh of Kirkcudbright, bot that the samyne sall remaine with thame as of befor wnhurt or prejudgit heirby.
