Oure soverane lord, with advyse and consent of his hienes whole estates of this present parliament, ordaines ane act to be maid thairintill in favours of his hienes traist cowsigne Johne, lord Hay of Yester, his airs male, of tailyie and assignais quhatsumever, ratifiand and appreivand and, for his majestie and his successors, perpetuallie confirmeand, lykas his majestie, with consent forsaid, be thir presents, ratifies, approves and, for his majestie and his hienes successors, perpetuallie confirmes the chartor and infeftment maid and grantit be his majesties umquhile darrest father of worthie memorie to umquhile Williame, lord Hay of Yester, his airs male and of tailyie thairin contenit, off all and haill the lands and lordschip of Yester, containing thairintill the lands, lordschip, baronies, offices, mylnes, wodes, fischings, advocatioun, donatioun and richt of patronages of kirks, benefices, chaplanries, proveistries and uthers thairin mentionat to be haldin of his majestie and his hienes successors in fie and heretage off the dait wnder his hienes great seale, the tuentie sevint day of Februar, the yeir of God jM vC fourscoir ten yeirs; the precept of sasing following upon the said chartor wnder the testimoniall of his hienes great seale for giving sasing to umquhile James, lord Hay of Yester, as air maill to the said umquhile Williame, lord Hay of Yester, of the lands, lordschip, baronies and uthers forsaidis of the dait the tuentie nynt day of May, the yeir of God jM vC fourscoir and ellevine yeirs; the chartor and infeftment maid and grantit be his hienes umquhile darrest father of worthie memorie to the said Johne, now lord Hay of Yester, his airs male and of tailyie contenit in his infeftment of the lordschip of Yester of the benefice and tennandrie of the croskirk of Peibles, to be haldin of his majestie and his hienes successors, of the dait wnder his hienes great seale at his hienes court of Newmercatt in Ingland, the thride day of Februar, the yeir of God jM vjC tuentie four yeires; the precept of sasing following thairupon wnder the testimoniall of his hienes great seale of the dait of the said chartor; the instrument of sasing givin to the said Johne, lord Hay of Yester thairof conforme thairto of the dait the penult day of Marche, the said yeir of God jM vjC tuentie four yeirs, wnder the signe and subscriptione manuall of Patrick Veache, notar publick, with all and sundrie uther infeftments, chartors, precepts, instruments of sasing, confirmationes, services, retours, infeftments following thairupon, procuratories and instruments of resignatione and infeftments following upon the samyne and all uthers wreatts, richts, titills and secuirities maid and grantit be our said soverane lord or any of his hienes maist noble progenitors to the said Johne, lord Hay of Yester, his antecessors, thair airs, successors and assignais of the lands, lordschip, baronies, offices, tennandries and uthers thairin mentionat of quhatsumever dait or daitts, tennor or contents the samyne be in all and sundrie pointes, pases, heads, articles, clauses, provisiones and conditiones quhatsumever thairin contenit, conforme to the tennors thairof, with all that hes followit or may follow thairupon, declaring this present generall ratificatioun of all and sundrie the evidents and wreatts speciallie and generallie forsaidis to be als guid, valide, effectuall and sufficient to the said Johne, lord Hay of Yester and his forsaidis for bruiking and joysing of the lands, lordschip, barronies, offices, tennandries and uthers abonewrittine thairin contenit as thair heretage at thair pleasure in all tyme coming, as if all and sundrie the samyne wreatts and secuirities speciallie and generallie forsaidis wer at lenth and word be word ingrost heirintill; quhairanent our said soverane lord, with advyse and consent forsaid, have dispensit and be thir presents, for his hienes and his successors, with consent abonewrittine, dispense for ever. And als his majestie, with advyse and consent forsaid, decernes and declares the saidis wreatts to be guid and sufficient richts, titles and secuirities to the said Johne, lord Hay of Yester and his abonewrittine, quhairby he and they may bruik, joyse and posses all and sundrie the lands, lordschip, baronies, offices and uthers thairin contenit as thair heretage at thair pleasure in all tyme heireftir, and ordaines this present ratificatioun to be insert amonges the remanent actes of his hienes parliament; quhairanent thir presents sall be ane sufficient warrand.
