Quhairunto the provest and bailleis of Edinburgh, being warned to answere, and they compeirand be Nicoll Udwart and Maistir Alexander Guthrie, thair procuratours, who alledgit that this wes a commoun caus concerning the haill burrowes and that they could not give advice thairin till they wer consulted with the burrowes thereanent. Quhilk declaratioun being heard and considderit be the lords, they have assigned and assignes unto thame the twentie day of Apryle nixtocome for giving in ane perfyte answere and report in writt concerning the particulars meintiouned in the said letter.
