Anent the procureing of officeis be bryberie

The estaittis, haveing considderit of the royall and princelie propositioun maid unto thame be the kingis majestie toucheing the procureing of offices and places be bryberie, statutis and ordanis that whoevir of what rank or qualitie thay be sall at ony tyme heirafter acquire or purches ony place of judicatorie within this kingdome by bryberie or uther unlauchfull meanis, that the place and office sua purchest salbe forfeytted to his majestie and be at his majesties dispositioun; and that this act be nowayes extendit ad preterita.
