Petition: in favour of Sir John Veitch of Dawyck
Sir John Veitch [of Dawyck]

The which day Sir John Veitch offered to the estates that if they give him power to intromit with [John Stewart], earl of Traquair's rent for the crop 1643, he would not only pay all public dues with the annualrent of lawful creditors, but would presently give in to the public £1,000 sterling. Which offer the estates accepted and granted his desire.
