Procedure: recommendation
The estates recommend to [John Campbell, earl of Loudoun], lord chancellor, to write to the duchess of Hessin and their lieutenant general, acquainting them that this kingdom, having occasion of the service of Colonel David Leslie, have resolved to make use of him for that effect; and therefore to desire of them that they might grant to him free pass and allowance for this employment and for his present dispatch home therefore.
