Act of constitution

The noblemen, barons and burgesses presently convened, considering that this convention was, by proclamation in his majesty's name and authority, lawfully called for the great and urgent necessities expressed in the act made relating thereto of 12 May last, have found and declared, and hereby find and declare, that the same is a lawful, free and full convention, consisting of all the members thereof, and has power to treat, consult and determine in all matters that shall be proposed to them as freely and amply as any convention which has been within this kingdom at any time bygone.

The estates ratify all acts, sentences, orders and decreets given by them in any particular whatsoever since the first diet of their meeting and before the act of constitution of the convention above-written.
