Protestation of [John Hay], lord Yester against the town of Peebles' ratification
In presence of the king's majesty and estates of parliament John, lord Hay of Yester, personally present, protested that the ratification granted in this present parliament in favour of the burgh of Peebles, provost, bailies, council and community thereof, should be always without prejudice to the said John, lord Yester and his successors of the rights, privileges, infeftments and others granted to him, his authors and predecessors and of their possession according thereto; and thereupon asked instruments.
