Protestation for the town of Ayr against the town of Irvine's ratification

In presence of the king's majesty and estates of parliament compeared personally John Osborne, commissioner for the burgh of Ayr, and in name of the provost, bailies, council and community of the said burgh, protested that the ratification granted in this present parliament in favour of the burgh of Irvine of their rights, infeftments and others contained in their ratification should be always without prejudice to the said burgh of Ayr, provost, bailies, council and community thereof regarding their rights, infeftments, liberties and privileges of their said burgh; and thereupon asked instruments.
