Ratification in favour of Sir James Scott of Rossie [regarding the barony of Rossie]2

Our sovereign lord, with advice and consent of the estates of this present parliament, ratifies, approves and confirms the charter made and granted by his majesty, under his highness's great seal, of the date at Whitehall, 21 October 1639, to and in favour of Sir James [Scott of]3 Rossie, knight, colonel, his male heirs, of tailzie and assignees specified therein, of the barony of Rossie, comprehending the lands, teinds, loch, fishings and others contained therein, with the precept of sasine following thereupon and instrument of sasine following upon the same, in all points and clauses specified therein, after the form and tenor thereof, and declares this ratification of the same to be as valid and effectual as if the said charter, precept and sasine were at length and word by word inserted herein, dispensing hereby with the not inserting thereof. And further declares, statutes and ordains that the same charter, precept, sasine and this ratification thereof, and the other rights and securities made to the said Sir James Scott and his authors and their predecessors, are and shall be valid and sufficient rights and securities to the said Sir James and his foresaids for possessing and enjoying of the said barony of Rossie, comprehending the lands, teinds, loch, fishings, privileges, liberties and others particularly mentioned in the said charter perpetually in all time coming.
