Ratification in favour of [George Hay], earl of Kinnoull of his infeftment of the barony of Kinfauns

Our sovereign lord, with consent of the estates of this present parliament, by this legislation, ratifies and approves the charter made and granted by his majesty's late dearest father of eternal memory under his highness's great seal to the late George [Hay], earl of Kinnoull, etc., therein designed Sir George Hay of Kinfauns, knight, high chancellor of this realm of Scotland, his male heirs and assignees of the barony of Kinfauns, comprehending all and whole the lands and lordship of Kinfauns and Pitfindie, the heritable office of the keeping of the water of Tay on both the sides thereof, and of all other waters, rivers and burns, running and falling in the said water of Tay, with the privileges and liberties thereof particularly mentioned in the said charter [and comprehending sundry other lands and others at length mentioned in the said charter]2, which charter is of the date at Windsor, 3 September 1622, to be held of his majesty and his successors in free blench in manner expressed therein, together with the precept of sasine following thereupon and instrument of sasine following upon the same, in all and sundry points, articles and clauses contained therein and after the forms and tenors thereof; and declares this present general ratification of the same charter, precept and instrument of sasine to be as good and sufficient in all respects as if the same had been at length inserted herein, dispensing with the not inserting thereof in this ratification by the tenor hereof for ever, and finds, declares, statutes and ordains that the foresaid charter, precept and sasine and instruments of sasine following thereupon are and shall be a sufficient and valid right, title and security to the heirs and successors of the said George, earl of Kinnoull for possessing and enjoying of the lands, office and others specified in the said charter to be held of his majesty and his successors in manner expressed therein in all time coming.
