Ratification to the beadsmen of Magdalene Chapel

Our sovereign lord and estates of this present parliament, having respect to the well of the hospital founded and situated within the town of Edinburgh now and of old called the Magdalene Chapel, whereof the hammermen of Edinburgh are patrons, and for the good, true and thankful service done to his highness and his majesty's predecessors by the said hammermen of Edinburgh, have ratified and approved and, by the tenor hereof, ratify and approve the charter of mortification made, given and granted by his majesty under the great seal, of the date at Holyroodhouse, 19 October last, of the sum of £109 sterling in favour of the beadsmen of the said chapel, called Magdalene Chapel, and of the hammermen of the said burgh and their successor patrons thereof, payable out of the rents of the bishopric of Dunkeld, vacant in his majesty's hands through the abolishing and suppressing of bishops within this realm by the persons particularly nominated and expressed in the said mortification, their heirs and successors, in all and sundry points, privileges, heads, articles, gifts, donations, ratifications, clauses, circumstances and conditions whatsoever specified and contained therein. And his majesty and estates foresaid of this present parliament will, grant, declare, statute and ordain that the beadsmen and decayed tradesmen of the said hospital from time to time shall peaceably and freely possess, hold and enjoy the benefit of the foresaid mortification and sum of money above-written, thereby mortified in all time coming, after the form and tenor of the said charter of mortification in all respects, without any hope, trouble or impediment to be made or moved in the contrary, and that this present general ratification and approbation thereof is and shall be as sufficient and have as great force, strength and effect to the said beadsmen and to the present deacon and masters of the hammermen as representing the whole body and their successor patrons of the said hospital in all respects and conditions as if the same were at length word by word inserted herein.
