Ratification in favour of [Robert Adair], laird of Kinhilt

Our sovereign lord, with advice and consent of the estates presently convened, ratifies, approves and confirms to and in favour of his highness's beloved Robert Adair of Kinhilt, his heirs and assignees, a charter granted by his majesty's dearest father of eternal memory, under his highness's great seal, in favour of the late Ninian Adair of Kinhilt of all and whole the five merk land of Drummore, with the tower, fortalice, manor place, houses, buildings, yards, orchards, mill, multures, annexes, connexes, tenants, tenancies, service of free tenants and all their pertinents, with the advocation, donation and right of patronage of the parish kirk and parish of Kirkmaiden in the Rhinns, all lying within the sheriffdom of Wigtown, together with the precept and instrument of sasine following thereupon; together also with the retours, infeftments and other rights made and granted in favour of the said Robert Adair of Kinhilt succeeding as heir to the said late Ninian Adair of Kinhilt in whose favour the said charter was granted, as in the same, of the date 28 September 1602, at length is contained, in the whole heads, articles, clauses, circumstances and conditions thereof mentioned in the said charter, infeftment and other rights granted in their favour. And our said sovereign lord, with advice and consent of the said estates, wills and grants and, for his highness and his successors, decrees and ordains that this present confirmation is and shall be as valid and sufficient and of as great value, force, strength and effect to the said Robert Adair of Kinhilt for holding and possessing of the lands and others foresaid likewise and in the same manner as any of his predecessors or authors held and possessed the same before, or as if the said charter, precepts, instruments of sasine, retours, confirmations and other rights granted to the said Robert and his predecessors were at length word for word inserted herein; concerning which, and all defects and objections to be proposed in the contrary, our said sovereign lord, with advice and consent foresaid, dispenses for ever.
