Ratification in favour of [James Ogilvie], earl of Findlater

Our sovereign lord and estates of parliament ratify, approve and confirm the signature, dated 13 November instant, superscribed by his majesty, granted to and in favour of James, earl of Findlater, lord Deskford, his heirs and successors, in the right of the lands and living of Findlater and Deskford, with the charter, precept and instrument of sasine to follow thereupon, of all and whole the lands of Clochmacriech, alias Ladyland, with the pertinents, with the office of heritable bailiary of the lands and barony of Strathisla, with the whole liberties, privileges and immunities pertaining to the said office, and whereof the said earl and his predecessors have been in possession at any time bygone, in manner specified in the said signature, in all and sundry heads, articles, clauses and circumstances thereof. And his majesty wills and grants, and for his highness and his successors, with consent of the estates of parliament, decrees and ordains that this present confirmation is and shall be of as great value, force, strength and effect to the said James, earl of Findlater and his foresaids as if the foresaid signature, with the charter, precept and instrument of sasine to follow thereupon, were word by word inserted herein; concerning which his majesty and estates of parliament have dispensed and by this ratification dispense for ever, to the effect the said lands, office and others foresaid contained in that signature may remain with the said James, earl of Findlater and his foresaids as their own proper heritage, heritably and irredeemably in all time coming, to be held of his majesty and his successors in manner specified in the said signature and according to the tenor thereof and charter, precept and instrument of sasine to follow upon the said signature.
