Ratification in favour of the minister of Dunoon

Our sovereign lord and estates of parliament ratify and approve the gift of mortification granted by his majesty to Master Ewen Cameron, present minister of Dunoon and his successor ministers thereat, of the sum of 1,200 merks Scots money yearly out of the readiest of the teinds, teind duties and other rents of the bishopric of Argyll with this declaration always: that the said Master Ewen Cameron and his successors foresaid shall give yearly to a schoolmaster who shall remain at the said kirk of Dunoon the sum of 200 merks Scots money, as the said gift of mortification superscribed by his majesty, bearing date at Holyroodhouse, 8 November 1641, more fully purports, in the whole heads, articles, clauses and conditions of the same gift of mortification above-mentioned; and declare and ordain the foresaid gift, with this present ratification thereof, to be a sufficient and valid right and title to the said Master Ewen Cameron and his successors foresaid for possessing and intromitting with the foresaid sum of 1,200 merks yearly according to the foresaid gift of mortification thereof, and to the effect, and with the declaration mentioned therein. Likewise our said sovereign lord and estates of parliament declare that this present general ratification above-specified is and shall be as sufficient as if the foresaid gift were inserted word for word herein; concerning which our said sovereign lord and estates foresaid dispense for ever.
