Protestation for the college of justice

The which day Sir Thomas Hope [of Craighall], in name and on behalf of the lords of session and other members of the college of justice, protested that the foresaid act regarding the discharging of advocations for £100 or within the same should be always without prejudice of the privileges and liberties of the college of justice granted thereto and to the senators and members thereof, or in any way pertaining to the same judicatory by the foundation thereof or by any laws or acts of parliament since made and set down in favour of the college of justice at any time hereafter, and hereupon asked instruments.
