Petition
Petition by the eldest sones of noblemen
The which day the petition given in to the parliament by the eldest sons of noblemen, desiring liberty to sit in the house of parliament to hear the proceedings thereof, was publicly read in audience of the king's majesty and estates of parliament. Whereupon [Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall], the king's advocate, at his majesty's command, asked instruments.
