Ordinance of parliament in favour of [John Blair], laird of Blair, [the Laird of] Caldwell and [Sir William Cunningham of] Cunninghamhead

The which day the three supplications given in to the parliament by the Laird of Blair, the Laird of Caldwell and the Laird of Cunninghamhead, craving that the gifts of their wards and marriages may be passed freely in favour of the supplicants, in respect their fathers and others respectively contained in their supplications by whose decease their wards and marriages fall, died or contracted their ailment, whereof they died in the public service of the country and good cause, being read in audience of the parliament, the estates of parliament find the desires thereof reasonable, and out of certain knowledge that the supplicants' fathers died or contracted ailment whereof they died in the public service of the country and good cause, the said estates appoint [Sir James Carmichael], treasurer depute, and lords of exchequer to pass the said three gifts of the said supplicants, their wards and marriages respectively and that freely without any composition.
