[Business regarding the broken men and settling the peace of the country debated; various draft acts regarding the same to be taken into further consideration]

The business regarding the broken men and for settling the peace of the country being long debated, and the acts produced by the noblemen and gentlemen being read and well considered, the lords of articles appoint [David Carnegie], earl of Southesk, with [Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall], advocate, to consider the differences between the acts; and, according to the conclusions verbally agreed in reason, to draw up an act to be shown again to [John Stewart, earl of Traquair], the lord commissioner's grace, and articles. For which effect the act drawn up by the noblemen, with the barons' objections against the same, and four acts drawn up by the barons, were delivered to the Earl of Southesk and the noblemen, with [Sir James Campbell of] Lawers, [Sir James Hamilton of] Broomhill and [Sir William Forbes of] Craigievar appointed to attend tomorrow at 7 o'clock in the morning.
