[Act for abolition of episcopacy approved; lord commissioner's declaration]

The act rescissory of the acts introduced in favour of episcopacy and other prelates etc. for their civil places read, voted and passed in articles.

[John Stewart, earl of Traquair], the commissioner's grace, declared that he will be heard and cause [Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall], his majesty's advocate, produce his reasons in writing against the article foresaid, or any other article, which shall be voted by the lords of articles to be presented to the parliament, which his grace conceives shall be prejudicial to his majesty.

Act regarding the constitution of parliaments in time coming being read, it is thought fitting that in all humility the same be represented by [John Stewart, earl of Traquair], the commissioner's grace, to his majesty and his majesty supplicated to grant the same and graciously to intimate his royal pleasure relating thereto to the next parliament.

Act regarding the constitution of this parliament read, voted and passed in articles.

John Smith [of Grotehill] is appointed to warn the persons after-mentioned to compear before the articles tomorrow to give their answers in the particulars following, namely: [Robert Balfour], lord [Balfour of] Burleigh to produce the report of the committee granted for tanning of leather, Sir James Balfour [of Kinnaird] to answer to the article produced against the patent of armoury, Master Robert Petrie to answer to the article produced against the patent of pearl, to advertise [Alexander Livingstone], earl of Linlithgow to produce the act for discharging the casting out ballast above Queensferry and to be heard thereupon and to speak with the commissioner's grace regarding the patent of tobacco.

Act regarding the loyal packing of salmon read, voted and passed in articles.

The act formerly passed regarding the packing and transportation of herring read and renewed, but the burghs appointed to be heard thereupon tomorrow.

The article regarding the discharge of the salmon fishing upon Sunday read, voted and passed in articles. Memorandum, if [James Stewart], earl of Moray or [Sir Robert Innes], laird of Innes have anything to be alleged in the contrary, that they may be heard in due time.

The act formerly passed in favour of the king's vassals of small portions of land, together with the act newly given in by [Sir John Scott of Scotstarvit], director of the chancellery, given up to [Sir George Stirling], laird of Keir for the barons to see until tomorrow.

The supplication by [Archibald Campbell], earl of Argyll against Sir Donald Gorme and others being disputed by procurators in presence of [John Stewart, earl of Traquair], the lord commissioner's grace, and articles, continued until tomorrow.
