Procedure: protest; asking of instruments
The same day compeared a noble lord [John Murray], earl of Annandale and protested that the ratification passed in this present parliament in favour of Master Andrew Murray of Balvaird, nor no part thereof, should be hurtful or prejudicial to the said noble lord's rights, privileges and infeftments of and concerning the same, but to remain with him, his heirs and successors unhurt or prejudiced thereby. Which protestation his majesty and estates of parliament, finding reasonable, have admitted and admit, whereupon the said noble lord [John], earl of Annandale asked acts and instruments.
