Nomination of commissioners for the laws

The estates nominate and adjoin [William Douglas, earl of Morton], lord treasurer, [Robert Ker], earl of Roxburghe and [John Maitland, earl of] Lauderdale, [Patrick Forbes], bishop of Aberdeen and [John Abernethy, bishop of] Caithness, [John Campbell], lord Loudoun, [John Elphinstone, lord] Balmerino, [David Carnegie, lord] Carnegie and [John Stewart, lord] Traquair to the commission formerly granted for surveying of the laws. And the barons and burghs promised to give in to the estates upon Saturday next the names of such persons as they desire to be adjoined to the said commission, and a copy of the commission was delivered to them.
