Ratificatioun in favouris of Schir Ritchard Cokburne of Clerkingtoun

Oure soverane lord, estaittis and haill bodye of this present parliament, for thame and thair successouris, ratifies, approvis and confirmis the charter maid and grantit be his hienes, with advise and consent of his majesties generall collectoure and thesaurar of new augmentationes for the tyme, to his hienes trustye and weilbelovit counselloure Schir Ritchard Cokburne of Clerkington, knycht, kepair of his majesties privie seill, and his airis maill specifeit thairin, off all and haill the landis of Clerkingtoun, with the maner place, houses, biggingis, yairdis, orchardis, cornemylnes and walkmylnes thairof, and thair pertinentis, lyand within the parochin and constabularie of Hadingtoun and schirefdome of Edinburgh, with the precept and instrument of seasing following thairupoun, in all and sindrie headis, pointis, articles, clauses and conditiones thairof, as the said charter past under his hienes great seill, of the dait at Roystoun, the nyntene day of Januar, the yeir of God ane thowsand sex hundreth ten yeris, and of his majesties reignnes the fouretie thrid and sevin yeris, in the self at mair lenth proportis. Lykeas oure said soverane willis and declaris that this present generall ratificatioun is and salbe of als great strenth, force and effect to the said Schir Ritchard and his airis maill specifeit in the said charter as gif the samyn precept and instrument of seasing following thairupoun wer word be word insert in this present act, quhairanent oure said soverane lord and estaittis foirsaidis dispenses be thir presentis. Attoure, oure said soverane, estaittis and haill bodye of this present parliament decernis and declaris the foirsaid charter, precept and instrument of seasing following thairupoun to be ane valide, lauchfull and perfect richt to the said Schir Ritchard and his foirsaidis for bruiking and joysing of the foirnemmyt landis and utheris thairin specifeit in blensche firme conforme to the tennoure of the foirsaid charter, siclyke and als frelie as gif the saidis landis had bene specialie and expreslie dissolvit be act of parliament fra the act of annexatioun of the temporalitie of benefices within this realme to his hienes crowne for disponyng of the same in blensche ferme, and as gif the foirsaid infeftment had procedit and bene maid be virtew of the said act, notwithstanding that the saidis landis wer haldin in fewfirme of before; and decernis and ordanis this present act to be ane sufficient dissolutioun to the effect foirsaid, and, gif neid beis, ordanis ane new infeftment to be maid of the foirsaidis landis to the said Schir Ritchard and his foirsaidis in competent and dew forme, to be haldin of oure said soverane and his successours in fre blensche, for payment of ane penny of Scottis money yeirlie upoun the ground of the saidis landis, gif it be askit allanerlie, and that in respect of the lang and faithfull service done be the said Schir Ritchard to his majestie, his realme and liegis of Scotland, tryit be oure said soverane and his estaittis of this present parliament.
