Ratificatioun of the said Schir William Olyphantis gift of advocatrie

Oure soverane lord, estaittis and haill bodie of this present parliament, for thame and thair successouris, ratifies, approvis and confirmis the gift of the office of advocatrie, gevin and grantit be his hienes to his trustie and weilbelovit counsaloure, Schir William Olyphant of Newtoun, knycht, makand and constitutand him his majesties advocat during all the dayes of his lyftyme, in all and sindrie pointis, heidis, articles, clauses, circumstances and conditiones thairof, as the samyn gift of the dait at Wansteid, the nyntene day of Junii, the yeir of God ane thowsand sex hundreth twelf yeris, and of his majesties reignes the fourty fyft and tent yeris, in the self at mair lenth proportis; and willis and declaris this present ratificatioun to be of als great strenth, force and effect as gif the foirsaid gift, haill tennoure and contentis thairof wer word be word at lenth insert heir in; quhairanent oure soverane lord and estaittis of parliament dispensis be thir presentis.
