Ratificatioun in favours of Alexander Stewart, lord of Garleis
Oure soverane lord and thre estaittis of this present parliament, calling to mynd the gude, trew and thankfull service done be Schir Alexander Stewart, father to Alexander Stewart, now lord of Garleis, hes ratifeit and approvin and, be the tennoure heirof, ratefeis and approvis the infeftment grantit to the said umquhile Schir Alexander under the great seill in the yeir of God ane thowsand fyve hundreth foure score aucht yeris, off all and haill the landis of Coitland, with the advocatioun, donatioun and richt of patronage of the kirk of Pennyghame, baith personage and vicarage thairof, in all and sindre heidis, pointis, clauses, articles and conditiones contenit in the said infeftment, sa that the same may stand in the awin full strenth, force and effect to Alexander, now lord Garleis, sonne and air to the said umquhile Schir Alexander, notwithstanding quhatsomevir defect, act or ordinance maid or to be maid in the contrar, with the quhilk oure said soverane lord and estaittis foirsaidis dispenses. It is alwayes declarit be his majestie and estaittis foirsaidis that this present ratificatioun of the foirsaid infeftment sall nawayes be prejudiciall to the deane and remanent members of his hienes chapell royall anent quhatsomevir richt competent to thame as accordis of the law.
