Ratificatioun in favours of Walter, lord Scott of Bukcleuch

Oure soverane lord and estaittis of this present parliament ratifies and approvis the twa infeftmentis respective underwrittin, to witt, the ane thairof maid and grantit be his majestie under the great seill to his hienes umquhile richt traist cousing and counsaloure Walter, lord Scott of Bukcleuch that last deceissit, quha was than thairin designit Schir Walter Scot of Branxholme, knycht, his airis and assignais quhatsomevir heritablie, off all and haill the landis, lordschip and barony of Haillis, comprehending all and sindrie the landis, lordschippis, baronies and utheris specifeit in the said infeftment, and als of all and haill the landis and stedingis of Elvilland and Kirksted, with the pertinentis, lyand within the schirefdome of Selkirk, of the dait at Halyrudehous, the fourt day of October, the yeir of God ane thowsand fyve hundreth foure scoir fouretene yeris; and the uther of the saidis infeftmentis maid, gevin and grantit be his majestie under the great seill to the said umquhile Walter, lord Scott of Bukcleuch, quha is alsua thairin designit Schir Walter Scott of Branxholme, knycht, his airis and assignais, of all and haill the landis and baronye of Branxholme, comprehending all and sindrie the landis, baronyes and utheris specifeit in the said infeftment, with thair pertinentis, togidder with the taxt ward, nonentres, releif and mariage mentionat in the said infeftment, off the dait at Falkland, the sextene day of August, the yeir of God ane thowsand fyve hundreth foure scoir nynetene yeris, with the preceptis and instrumentis of seasing respective direct furth and gevin conforme to the saidis infeftmentis, in all and sindre passes, pointis, headis, articles, clauses, conditiones and circumstances quhatsomevir thairin contenit, efter the formes and tennours thairof. Lykeas his majestie and estaittis foirsaidis declaris that this present ratificatioun and confirmatioun of the infeftmentis respective abonewrittin salbe als valide, effectuall and sufficient to his hienes richt traist cousing Walter, now lord Scott of Bukcleuch, sonne and air to the said umquhile Walter, lord Scott of Bukcleuch, his father, for bruiking and joysing of the landis, lordschippis, baronyes and utheris contenit in the saidis infeftmentis as gif the samyn infeftmentis, preceptis and instrumentis of seasing following thairupoun war at lenth insert and ingrost heirintill, but prejudice alwayes of the Erlis of Angus, Mortoun and Hwme, and William Dowglas of Cavers thair richtis, quhilkis they or ony of thame hes in and to ony of the landis specifeit and contenit in the foirsaidis infeftmentis as accordis of the law.
