Oure soverane lord, estaittis and haill bodie of this present parliament, remembering the gude, trew and thankfull service done to his majestie be his familiar servitour Schir Richard Prestoun of Haltrie, knycht, ratefeis, appreves and confermes the chartour of alienatioun and dispositioun thairin contenit maid be James, lait lord of Balmirrenoch, to the said Schir Richard, his airis and assignais heretablie and irredimablie, of all and haill the landis, lordschip and baronie of Dingwell and utheris specialie enumerat and exprest in the foirnameit chartour of alienatioun, and of all and haill the heretable offices of the keiping and constabularie of the castell of Dingwell, with houses, biggingis, yairdis and with all service, comoditeis, privileges and utheris quhatsumevir pertening theirto, and als of all and haill ane annualrent of tuentie merkis money usuale of the realme of Scotland assignit for keiping of the said castell, to be upliftit furth of the reddiest fewfermes of the landis of Kynnard, togidder with the chartour of confirmatioun maid and grantit be oure said soverane, ratefeand and apprevand the foirsaid chartour of alienatioun3 with ane new infeftment thairin contenit, gevand, grantand and disponand to the said Schir Richard and his foirsaidis heretablie, all and haill the saidis landis, lordschip and baronie of Dingwell, heretable offices of keiping and constabularie of the said castell of Dingwell and annualrent abonewrittin assignit for the keiping of the samin, as the foirsaidis chartouris of alienatioun and confirmatioun respective contening thairin ane chartour de novo damus, quhilk chartour of confirmatioun confermand the foirsaid gift de novo damus is of the date at Grenewitche, the aucht day of Junii in this instant yeir of God jM vjC and nyne yeiris, in them selffis at mair lenth proportis, in all and sindrie heidis, pointis, articlis, clauses, conditionis and circumstances thairof, with the haill privileges, liberteis, honouris and digniteis thairin mentionat; and specialie that pairt thairof anent the titill, honour, degrie and dignitie of ane lord of parliament grantit to the said Schir Richard, and that he and his airis sall have voit in parliamentis, generall counsaillis and conventionis siclyk and als frelie as ony lord of parliament had in ony tymes bigane or sall have in ony tyme cuming, and that the said Schir Richard and his airis sall be stylit in all tyme cuming lordis of Dingwell, and findis, decernis and declairis the foirsaidis chartouris, preceptis and instrumentis of seasing that hes followit or sall follow heir upoun to be gude, valide, perfyte and sufficient richtis and securiteis to the said Schir Richard, his airis and assignais, for bruiking and joising perpetualie and in all tyme cuming, off all and haill the saidis landis, lordschip and baronie of Dingwell, comprehending thairin the particular landis and utheris perticularlie enumerat and exprest in the foirsaidis chartouris, with the haill offices, privileges, honouris and digniteis thairin mentionat; and that this present generall ratificatioun and confirmatioun shall be of als greit force, strenth and effect to the said Schir Richard and his foirsaidis as gif the saidis chartouris of alienatioun, confirmatioun and gift de novo damus wer at lenth word be word heirin insert, quhairanet oure said soverane and estaittis, for now and evir, be thir presentis dispenses. And oure said soverane lord and estaittis of parliament declairis that this present ratificatioun shall nawayes be prejudiciall to the laird of McKenyie and his infeftmentis of his landis and fischeingis about Dingwell pertening to him, and als of the offices of constabularie and keiping of the castell of Dingwell, and siclyk that this act shall not prejudge the towne of Dingwell anent the richt and libertie of thair burgh as accordis of the law.
