Erectioun of the abbacie of Lundoris in ane temporall lordschip in favouris of Lord Lundoris

Oure soverane lord and estaittis of this present parliament convenit and haldin within his majesteis realme of Scotland, and the saidis estaittis, at his majesteis desyre, understanding perfytlie and haveing sufficient tryell and considerit in the said parliament the mony gude, trew, thankfull and proffitable services monywayes done to his majestie be Patrik, now lord of Lundoris, sumtyme commendatar of the abbacie thairof undermentionat, and of the great charges, expenses and sowmes of money that he hes sustenit and debursit, nocht onlie in his majesteis domestick and privie affairs and busines thir tuentie four yeiris bigane or thairby during all the quhilk tyme the said Patrik, lord Lundoris hes bene actuall and domestick servand gentilman in his majesteis chalmer, bot alsua of the uther great sowmes of money, charges and expenses sustenit be him at his majesteis mariage, baptisme of the prince his darrest sone and utherwayes sensyne, baith within this his hienes kingdome of Scotland and alse within his majesteis uther kingdome of England, continewalie sen his hienes repairing thairto (quhilk his majestie hes nevir yit recompensit), and for uther great, ressonable, proffitable and sene causes of the said realme of Scotland concerning the weilfair thairof, notorlie knawin to his hienes and estaitis of the samyn, and weill advysit, tryit, digestit and considerit and approvin be them; and be decreit of this present parliament, upoun sufficient verificatioun taken be them thairupoun, thairfoir oure said soverane lord and estaittis foirsaidis of this present parliament, with ane full, deliberat mynd and consent, hes to the effect underwrittin in pairt of remuneratioun of the saidis great and profitable services and of the saidis large sowmes of money and expenses dissolvit and, be the tennour of this present act, simpliciter and for evir dissolvis fra his majesteis crowne and patrimonie thairof and fra the first act of annexatioun of all kirklandis and temporall rentis of benefices within this realme to his said crowne and fra all uther annexatiounes, baith speciall and generall maid thairto at ony tymes heirtofoir, all and sindrie landis, lordschihpis, baroneis, castellis, touris, fortalices, mansiounes, manerplaces, yairdis, orchardis, townes, burrowis, mylnis, multuris, woddis, schawis, parkis, fischeingis, lochis, ilis, inches, hauches, medowes, mures, mosses, coillis, coilheuchis, annuelrentis, tenementis, reversiounes, customes, great and small, and utheris quhatsumevir of the temporalitie of the said abbacie of Lundoris, with all and sindrie thair pairtis, pendiclis, pertinentis, tennentis, tenandreis, service of frie tennentis, superiouriteis, yeirlie fewfermes, caynis, customes and dueteis thairof, offices, jurisdictiounes, privileges and immuniteis of the samyn, advocatiounis, donatiounes and richtis of patronages of kirkis, personages, vicarages, prebendareis, chaplanreis, alterages and utheris benefices, and all and sindrie utheris rentis, commoditeis, proffeittis and emolumentis quhatsumevir quhilkis pertenit of befoir and of auld to the said abbacie and monasterie of Lundoris, quhilkis wer generalie annexit to oure said soverane lordis crowne and patrimonie thairof upoun the tuentie nynt day of Julii, the yeir of God j^M v^C fourscoir sewin yeiris, or at ony uther tyme ather befoir or sensyne, dissolvand the samin thairfra simpliciter and for evir to the effect alwayes eftirspecefeit; and lykwayes, seing the principall mansioun, abbay place, houses, biggingis, yairdis and utheris undermentionat within the precinct of the said abbacie and utheris adjacent thairto as followis, and siclyk all and sindrie the kirkis, personages, vicarages, chaplanreis, alterages, teyndschewes, utheris teyndis, manses, glebis, fruittis, rentis, proffeittis and emolumentis pertening of befoir to the spiritualitie of the said abbacie of Lundores wes for ressonable and necessar causes resignit and dimittit of befoir be the abbott and convent thairof in oure said soverane lordis handis, to the effect his majestie micht dispone the samyn in sic maner as he suld think expedient, thairfoir and to the effect ane severall rectour and minister of Goddis word may be provydit to everie ane of the saidis kirkis, and for the utheris causes abonewrittin, oure said soverane lord and estaittis foirsaidis hes dissolvit and, be the tennour of this present act, dissolvis fra the said abbacie and monasterie of Lundoris and frome the patrimonie thairof simpliciter and for evir, the principall mansioun and manerplace of Lundoris, callit of auld the monasterie and abbay place thairof, with all and sindrie castellis, fortalices, houses, biggingis, yairdis and utheris lyand within the clausure and precinct of the said abbacie, and with all doucattis, grenis, office houses and utheris adjacent and pertening thairto of befoir; and siclyk all and sindrie the kirkis, personages, vicarages, chaplanreis, alterages, prebendareis and utheris benefices quhilkis pertenit of befoir and of auld to the said abbacie of Lundoris, with all and sindrie the teyndscheves, utheris teyndis, fruittis, rentis, manses, glebis, proffeittis and emolumentis of the samyn, togidder with the advocatioun, donatioun and richt of patronage thairof, and all utheris rentis, possessiounes, proffeittis, commoditeis and utheris quhatsumevir, alsweill in speciall as in generall quhilkis pertenit in ony tyme bygane to the said abbacie of Lundoris, alsweill to the spiritualitie as temporalitie thairof, and monkis portiounes of the samyn, or wes possessit be the abbottis, commendataris and convent thairof respective for the tyme as thair propirtie or patrimonie of the samin, baith tua pairt and thrid pairt thairof, quhilkis, be vertue of oure said soverane lordis anteriour chartour and infeftment maid and grantit be his majestie thairupoun of befoir under his great seall of Scotland of the date at Perth, the last day of Marche, the yeir of God j^M and sex hundreth yeiris, to Patrik, now maister of Lundoris, than stylit and designit thairintill Patrik Leslie, sone lauchfull to the said Patrik, lord of Lundoris, his airis maill quhatsumevir and thair assignais heretablie, wer than be his majestie erectit, unitit, annexat and incorporat in ane haill and frie temporall lordschip and baronie to the said Patrik Leslie and his foirsaidis, callit and to be callit the lordschip and baronie of Lundoris; quhilk chartour and infeftment maid thairupoun to the said Patrik, maister of Lundoris and his foirsaidis (now sene, red and considerit be the saidis estaittis of this present parliament) wes also ratifeit, approvin and confermit of befoir be oure said soverane lord and estaittis of this realme for the tyme in the parliament haldin at Edinburgh, the fyftene day of November, the said yeir of God j^M and sex hundreth yeiris. And inrespect thairof, his majestie and estaittis foirsaidis of this present parliament declairis and ordinis this present act of dissolutioun of all and sindrie the saidis landis, kirkis and utheris abone rehersit in generall contenit in the said anteriour chartour for avoiding of prolixitie, to be alse valide, sufficient and effectuall as gif the samin anteriour chartour and infeftment, with all and sindrie the particular landis, mylnis, fischeingis, kirkis, teyndis, mansionis, rentis and utheris thairin specefeit wer de verbo in verbum haillelie insert in this act, to the effect it may and sall be lesum to oure said soverane lord, be vertue of his new chartour and infeftment to be maid and past under his great seall of Scotland, to annalie, gif, grant, dispone and conferme to the said Patrik Leslie, now callit Patrik, maister of Lundoris, his airis maill and assignayis foirsaidis heretablie, all and haill the said lordschip and baronie of Lundoris, comprehending thairintill all and sindrie the saidis townis, landis, burghis of baronie, castellis, touris, fortalices, mansiounes, manerplaces, mylnis, woddis, fischeingis, rentis, fewfermes, dueteis, superiouriteis, annualrentis, tennentis, tennandreis and services of frie tennentis, offices, jurisdictiones, privileges, kirkis, richtis of patronages, teyndis and utheris quhatsumevir abone rehersit, contenit alsweill specialie as generalie in the said anteriour chartour and infeftment maid thairupoun be his hienes of befoir to the said Patrik Leslie and his foirsaidis heirin haldin as for expressit; and for new erectioun, unioun and incorporatioun of the samin to them in ane haill and frie temporall lordschip and baronie callit, and to be callit in all tyme cumming, the lordschip and baronie of Lundoris, with the honour, digniteis, voittis and estait of ane temporall lord of his majesteis parliamentis and counsallis, with additioun of badge and armes, to be haldin of oure soverane lord and his hienes successouris in frie heretage, frie lordschip and baronie for evir, for yeirlie payment to his hienes and his successouris thairof of [...] usuale money of this his hienes realme of Scotland at the terme of Witsonday in name of blenche ferme alanerlie, and thairwith payand to the rectouris and ministeris of the saidis kirkis and thair successouris thair yeirlie stipendis and utheris dueteis specefeit in the said anteriour chartour alanerly, nochtwithstanding that sum of the saidis landis and utheris abonerehersit specefeit thairintill wer utherwayes haldin of his majestie of befoir be vertue of the foirsaid act of annexatioun for yeirlie payment of certane fewfermes and dueteis contenit in the said anteriour chartour, quhairwith oure said soverane lord and estaittis foirsaidis now, ex certa scientia, for the causes abonewrittin, hes expresllie dispensit and dispenses be thir presentis, and renunceand all richt and actioun competent or that may be competent to his majestie and his successouris thairanent. And to the effect abonewrittin oure said soverane lord and estaittis foirsaidis dissolvis, suppresses, extinguisches and abolisches the foirsaid abbay and monasterie of Lundoris, memorie and name thairof, with the haill ordouris, institutiones and fundatiounes of the samin simpliciter and for evir, ordaning this present act of dissolutioun foirsaid to be alse valiable and effectuall as any uther act of dissolutioun maid in this present parliament; and that the infeftment to follow heirupoun be extendit in mair ampill and sufficient forme with all clauses neidfull, reservand and exceptand alwayes furth of this present act and erectioun foirsaid all regaliteis and privileges thairof, gif ony be possessit be the abbottis and titularis of the said abbacie of befoir, to remane with oure said soverane lord and his hienes successouris for evir in all tyme cumming.
