2Protestatioun maid be the Erle of Angus anent his priouritie and place in parliament

The quhilk day, in presens of the estaittis of this present parliament, comperit personalie Williame, erle of Angus, lord Dowglas, Abernethie, and askit instrumentis that he satt and sittis in the first place and formaist sait of the temporall estait of this realme, conforme to the ancient richtis and privileges thairof grantit be oure soverane lord and his maist nobill progenitouris to him and his predicessouris; and protestit that quhatsumevir persone or persones of the said temporall estait suld gif thair voittis befoir him in this present parliament, thair voittis suld nawayes be prejudiciall to him, nor his successouris in the peciable bruiking and joising in all tyme cumming of quhatsumevir privileges, honouris and digniteis bruikit and possessit be him and his predecessouris in tyme bigane, and namelie in the bearing of the crowne, the vangarde in battallis and in the first place and first voit of the said temporall estait in all parliamentis and counsaillis, bot that he and his successouris may bruik and joise the samin in all tyme cumming conforme to the saidis richtis grantit to him and his predecessouris thairupoun of befoir.
