Anent hospitallis and schoolis

Forsamekle as sic corruptioun and manyfold disorderis is enterit in collegis, scuilis, hospitallis and masondewis, thair buldingis rwynit and rentis and revenewis ar maist altogidder dilapidat, to the grit decay of learning and harm of the puir, the reformatioun and oversicht quhairof and ordour taking thairwith properlie appertenis to the chancellar of the realme, it is thairfoir statute [and] ordanit be the kingis majestie and estaitis of this perliament that Johne, lord of Thirlstane, chancellar of this realme, tak ordour with all convenient speid with all the saidis collegis, universities, scollis, hospitallis and masindowis, that the building thairof may be repairit, the rentis and revenewis recoverit and appropriat to the richt use according to thair severall fundationis and thay and everie ane of thame reducit to some better perfectioun and, gif it be possible, to thair former state and integritie.
