The kingis majestie and estaitis of this present parliament gevis and grantis full and frie licence and libertie to James Smyth and Johnne Waluoid, sumtyme citienaris of Sanctandrois, to returne and remane within this realme of Scotland as his hienes frie leigis at thair plesour, nochtwithstanding of the submissioun and decreit arbitrall past thairupoun betuix Maister Johnne Arthour, ane of the commisionaris of Edinburgh, and certane his brether and freindis on the ane pert, and the saidis James Smyth and Johnne Walwoid and utheris, thair collegis, on the uther pert, off the dait the [...] day off [...] the yeir of God jM vC [...] yeiris, and of all panis and executioun that hes follouit or may follou thairupoun, provyding within xl dayes nixt efter thair arryving within this realme the saidis James Smyth and Johnne Walwoid ather offer thame to abyd the law befoir the justice or his depuittis for the alleagit actuall stryking and slaying with thair awin handis of umquhile James Arthour, bruther to the said Maister Johnne, or els satisfie the pertie, safar as of ressone can be craved, and find cautioun to that effect. And incace it salhappin thame to cum to Sanctandrois within the said space of xl dayis nixt efter thair first arryving, that thai contene thai selffis quyet within thair houses of Sanctandrois salang as it salhappin thame to remane thair during the said space of xl dayes.
