Upoun the xxvj day of Merche the yeir of God jM vC fourscoir and threttein yeris, I, Williame Porteous, messinger, becaus all the haill persones following wer fugitive and culd not be apprehendit personallie, quhairof sum of thame also had na certane duelling place, thairfoir I past at command of thir oure soverane lordis lettres under the quarter seill to mercat croce of Edinburgh, and efter thrie oyeses, as use is, thair be oppin proclamatioun lauchlie summondit, warnit and chargeit Francis, sumtyme erll of Bothueill, Gilbert Pennycuik, John Rutherfurde of Hunthill, elder, Thomas Rutherfurde of Hunthill, younger, Symoun Armstrang, younger, of Quhythauche, committeris of the crymes respective within specifiit, to compeir in parliament the first day of Junii nixtocum, with continuatioun of dayis, in the tolbuith of Edinburgh to the effect within contenit, efter the forme and tennour of thir lettres within writtin in all pointis, quhairof I affixit ane just copie upone the foirsaid croce befoir thir witness: Johnne Purdy, Ross herauld, Johnne Forman, Rothesay herauld, Johnne Bleinscheillis, Bute pursevant, and Williame Forsyth, messinger, with utheris dyvers; and for the mair witnessing to this my indorsatioun, my signet is affixit.

Upoun the penult day of the said moneth of Merche the yeir of God foirsaid, I, the said Williame Porteous, messinger, because all the haill personeis following wer fugitive and could not be apprehendit personallie, quhairof sum of them also had na certane dwelling place, thairfoir I past at command of thir oure soverane lordis lettres under the quarter seill to the mercat croce of Jedburgh, and efter thrie oyises, as use is, thair be oppin proclamatioun lauchlie summond, wairnit and chairgit the said Frances, sumtyme Erll Bothuell, Gilbert Pennycuik, Jhone Rutherfurde, elder, of Hunthill, Thomas Rutherfurde, younger, of Hunthill, Symon Armstrang, younger, of Quhythauche, committeris of the crymes respective within specifiit, to compeir in parliament the first day of Junii nixtocum, with continuatioun of dayes, in the tolbuith of Edinburgh to the effect within contenit, efter the forme and tenour of thir lettresz within writtin in all poyintis, quhairof I affixit thrie severall just copies upoun the said mercate croce, and immediately thairefter, upoun the day, moneth and yeir of God foirsaid, I, the said William Porteus, messinger, past at command of thir saidis letteris and lawfullie summoundit, wairnit and chairgeit the saidis Jhone Rutherfurde of Hunthill, elder, and Thomas Rutherfurde of Hunthill, younger, at thair dwelling place of Hunthill, because I could not apprehend thame personallie, efter I had knokit sax severall tymes at the yet of the place thairof respective quhair thay usit to dwell, and affixit twa just copies of this withinwrittin summondis thairupoun to compeir in parliament day and place withinwrittin, with continewatioun of dayis, to the effect withincontenit. Upoun the last day of the said moneth of Merche the yeir of God foirsaid, I, the said Williame Porteous, messinger, because all the haill personeis following wer fugitive and could not be apprehendit personallie, quhairof sum of thame also had no certane dwelling place, thairfoir I past at command of thir oure soverane lordis lettres under the quarter seill to the mercate croce of Hadingtoun, and efter thrie hoyeses, as use is, be oppin proclamatioun lauchfullie summoundit, warnit and chargeit the saidis Frances, sumtyme Erll Bothuell, Gilbert Pennycuik, Jhone Rutherfurde of Hunthill, elder, Thomas Rutherfurde of Hunthill, younger, committeris of the crymes respective withinspecefeit, to compeir in parliament the first day of Junii nixtocum, with continewatioun of dayis, in the tolbuith of Edinburgh to the effect within contenit, efter the forme and tenour of the letteris withinwrittin in all poyntis, quhairof I affixit ane just copie upoun the foirsaid croce, and immediately thairefter, upoun the day, moneth and yeir foirsaid, I, the said William Porteous, messinger, past at command of thir saidis letteris and lawfullie summoundit, wairnit and chairgit the said Frances, sumtyme Erll Bothuell at his duelling place of Morame, becaus I culd not apprehend him selff personallie, efter I had knokit sax severall tymes at the yet of his place thairof quhair he usit oft to duell, and affixit ane just copie of this within writtin summondis thairupoun to compeir in parliament day and place within writtin, with continuatioun of dayes, to the effect within contenit.
