2Ratificatioun to the Laird of Edmeistoun

Oure soverane lord and his estaitis of parliament hes ratifiet and apprevit and, be the tennour heirof, for his hienes and his successouris, ratifies and apprevis the infeftment of fewferme gevin and grantit be his hienes at the speciall request and desyre of his weilbelovit counsellour Schir Johnne Cokburne of Ormeistoun, his hienes justice clerk, to his weilbelovit Andro Edmeistoun, fear of that Ilk, his aris and assignais off all and haill the landis of Barningtoun, Barleis and Beryloche, with all thair pertinentis, as thai ar boundit, methit and merchit in the said infeftment, liand within the schirefdome of Roxburgh; quhilkis landis pertenit heretablie and in fewferme to Frances, sumtyme erll Bothuill, Johnne and Frances Stewartis, his sonnes, or ather of thame, haldin immediatlie of the commendater of the abbacie of Kelso and becum in his majesties handis and at his dispositioun be ressone of the process and dome of foirfaltour ordourlie led and gevin aganis the said Frances, sumtyme erll Bothuill for certane crymes of tressone and lesemajestie committit be him, and quhairof he was convict in ane justice court haldin in the tolbuith of Edinburgh, the xxiiij day of Maii the yeir of God jM vC lxxxix yeris; quhilk process and dome of foirfaltour wes ratifiet in the parliament haldin at Edinburgh in the moneth of Junii the yeir of God jM vC lxxx tuelf yeris, and als be declaratioun maid in parliament that the said Frances, sumtyme erll Bothuill nor his posteritie suld bruik na landis nor benefices within this realme, as in the said declaratioun is in lykwayis at mair lenth contenit. And siclyk oure said soverane lord and estaitis hes ratifiit and apprevit and, be the tennour heirof, ratifies and apprevis the dissolutioun of the annexatioun of the landis of the said abbey of Kelso to the croun, to the effect that the samyn micht be sett in fewferme, as the said act of dissolutioun alsua beris in all clauses, pointis, heidis and articles thairof, to the effect that the said Andro Edmeistoun, fear of that Ilk, his aris and assignais foirsaidis may bruik and joyse the saidis landis of Barningtoun, Barleyis and Baryloche, with thair pertinentis, as thay ar boundit, methit and merchit in the said infeftment perpetuallie in all tyme cuming.
